Hello,
I can remeber the 1960's and 1970's like it was only
yesterday. I grew up in a small Northern Michigan town
of 1200 people. My wife would say I am using the term
"grew up" very loosely". men never quite grow up she says.
I remeber it being a safe time and people never locked their cars
or doors to their houses. Nobody worried about their kids being
kidnapped so we basically ran wild. Besides your normal sports
like football, baseball, and basketball, I also enjoyed skiing and
ice skating. I was a bad skier and a very good skater.
What I truly loved to do in the good weather was to skateboard!
I really loved that board with wheels. Went down some awful scary
hills in my day. Skateboarding was fun and considered "cool".
I became quite adept at it. I suppose I would have surfed if I lived
in California. I really enjoyed the thrill of skateboarding and that is one
event that has carried over through the years and eras. Kids love
it even now.
I found a real cool 1970's era skateboard that I will put in a post
tomorrow. Maybe you want to regain some of your childhood and try
them again or introduce your grandchildren to them to the horror of your
wife and your kids.
Thanks For Reading,
Scott
